Soaring high, a symbol of freedom—may we always rise to meet its promise.

1973 and the American Crossroads: A Gen X Reckoning with Trump’s Legacy. I was born at the crossroads of two very different Americas, and now I find myself grappling with the consequences. Reagan had vision and charisma, but Trump's legacy has left a dark shadow over the country.

Trickle-down economics has been the law of the land during my life and I was so excited to welcome the vision of VP Harris, continuing Biden's economic strategy of building the economy from the bottom up and the middle out.

That theory is on pause for at least the next 4 years. It's going to be a long wait. Meanwhile, we face the challenges of a divided nation, a pandemic that has exposed the cracks in our healthcare system, and a climate crisis that continues to escalate. The legacy of Trump's presidency will be felt for years to come, and it will take a concerted effort from all of us to heal and move forward as a country.

For almost a decade as my voice has gotten stronger and louder, there are friends and family who have never really understood or supported me. There are also friends and family who have stood by my side through thick and thin, offering unwavering love and support. As we navigate these turbulent times, I am grateful for those who have remained by my side, helping me to find my voice and stand up for what I believe in. Together, we will continue to fight for a better future, one where unity, compassion, and progress prevail.

I've found myself lately asking people, why the social agenda issues have them so angry, from a transgender person wanting to be referred to respectfully to the vilification of undocumented immigrants. I believe that every individual deserves to be treated with respect and kindness, regardless of their background or identity. It is disheartening to see so much hatred and discrimination in the world, but it only strengthens my resolve to speak out against injustice and advocate for equality. By standing together and supporting one another, we can create a more inclusive and accepting society for all. Let us continue to fight for what is right and never lose sight of the importance of empathy and understanding.

Farmers face a unique challenge, one of the programs Elon Musk has decided is "fraudulent." By fraudulent, he means programs he finds wasteful. USAID not only helps those in the world who are the most disadvantaged; it also provides intelligence and helps build the illusion that America is the shining city on the hill. It is important to recognize that the fight for justice and equality extends to all aspects of society, including the agricultural sector. Farmers play a crucial role in providing food for the population, and their challenges should not be overlooked. By supporting programs like USAID, we can ensure that farmers receive the assistance they need to thrive and contribute to a more equitable world. Let us continue to stand in solidarity with all individuals facing injustice, including farmers, and work towards a brighter future for all.

As a Gen Xer born in 1973, being part of this generation means you likely grew up during a time of significant social and cultural change, including the rise of technology and the internet. Gen Xers are often characterized as independent, resourceful, and adaptable individuals who value work-life balance. Despite facing economic challenges and societal shifts, Gen Xers have shown resilience and determination in navigating through various obstacles. Embracing your generational identity can provide insight into your values, attitudes, and perspectives while also connecting you to a community of individuals who share similar experiences and beliefs.

We were the last generation with no participation trophies, and we shut the schoolyard bully up with our quick wit and sarcasm. Our ability to think on our feet and problem-solve in the moment has served us well in both our personal and professional lives. As we continue to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of technology and society, our resilience and determination will continue to be our greatest assets.

I don't know what the next 4 years hold; the outlook looks bleak from a compassionate view. But I know that with our resilience and determination, we will find a way to overcome any challenges that come our way. We are The United States of America, and I'll be damned if our values and morals will be sold off to the highest bidder by a South African bully and his corrupt cronies, one who conned his way into a second term . as president of this great nation.

Light love peace and prayers our citzenry will awaken from this nightmare and fight for justice and integrity. We must band together and stand strong against this threat to our democracy. We cannot allow fear and division to tear us apart. It is time for us to rise up and reclaim our country from those who seek to destroy everything we hold dear. Together, we can make a difference and bring about a brighter future for all Americans.
